Sometimes you see a great coat, shirt, pant or accessory and feel like it needs to be in your wardrobe. So you pick it up, look longingly at it, and immediatly put it down.
Why?! Why would you put it back after feeling like it was the perfect item for you?
Chances are you may not have any idea of how to wear it, what to wear with it, or how to style it. Good news for you- we've started a series of monthly features where the guys that work for Ticknors will break down their outfit that day and show you how to wear those pieces.
Jordan works at the home office in Beachwood, Ohio and really has a knack for personalizing his outfits with great accessories and also loves to dress down his suits on more laid-back days.
You may recognize him from our social media and website, but we really wanted to know what Jordan was into lately and if he could help us understand how to wear a polo with a suit.
"My suit is a 2 piece suit by Jack Victor paired with a grey polo by Raffi. I love the blue of the suit because this shade is a new twist on your classic blue suit- and it looks different then the guy next to you. This suit has a great texture and the polo did too, so I felt it worked well together."
"I like to pair bracelets with my watches because it can either dress up or down a look depending on what you are going for. I picked a color leather band and metal bracelets because I was going for active causal."
"I'm a sucker for texture so I opted for a pocket square that was both silk and knit. The light grey matches the polo so it really ties it together."
"I paired this with a white leather sneaker because it was a way to tie the casualness of the polo to my shoes to complete the look. Low socks, no-show socks, or even no socks work best for this shoe and suit. This look works awesome for a dress-down Friday, an early Saturday dinner or a brunch with your in-laws. You can also pull this off for a very causal wedding."
Thanks to Jordan for letting us know how to wear a polo with a suit and look great while doing it.
Stay tuned each month for features from our own staff on what they wore today. Use #ticknorswhatiwore to show us your daily digs.
