Packing Advice for The Traveling Man

Packing Advice for The Traveling Man

Some of us travel for fun. Some of us travel for work. Whatever the reason for your travels, there is something we can all agree on: comfort is important, but dressing right for the occasion and looking great from the time you leave your house until you arrive back at home is also important. Your clothing choices should be reflective of your style but also be functional and fit for the occasion at hand.

What to Wear for Business Trip

There are a lot of variables to consider when you’re traveling for work. Often, business trips are jam-packed with meetings and events to consider like meetings with clients and partners, conferences, business lunches and teammate happy hours. It can be tough to pack the right set of clothes that allow you to look and feel your best for all of those, but it can certainly be done.

Tip 1: Consider Your Environment

Of course, this means to consider the weather that you’re traveling into, but it also means to consider what you’ll be doing when you reach your destination.

If you’re going to be spending your time at a conference walking miles of convention centers and heading right to a networking dinner from there, you’ll want to have a comfortable pair of shoes (or two) to bring with you. These Cole Haan lace ups in brown and black are a great option because they are stylish and are made with their famous ZEROGRAND soles for supreme comfort all day long.

Riviera Traveler’s pants are fantastic for long days because they’re light and comfortable with great wrinkle resistance and plenty of pockets for your hotel keys, exhibit badges, pens and business cards and more.

Tip 2: Choose a Complementary Color Palette

When you’re away from home for an extended period, having options to mix up your outfits or even re-wear clothes (like jackets or pants) can be a life-saver. Keep this in mind as you’re packing your clothes and preparing for your trip. Stick to a color palette that allows you to mix up your look without having to bring tons of clothing to make it through. Blues, greys, black, and browns are great colors to bring with you. Besides being timeless there are also many ways that you can coordinate your outfits to keep you looking fresh with less effort.

Tip 3: Prioritize Comfort

You’re not always going to have the option to change your clothes between a long day at the office or in meetings and having to jet off to the airport to make your flight home. Comfortable clothes will certainly help you get through a long day and feel great doing so. We recommend clothing like Proper sport shirts with breathable four-way stretch fabric and Alberto jeans, which not only look great but offer superior all-day comfort with just the right amount of stretch.
