Wedding suits- why you should buy (NOT RENT) your wedding suit!

Weddings are a huge event in your life. If you aren’t yet engaged, or just starting this process, you may not believe this but it’s true. Your future spouse will have a laundry list of items you need to do before the big day - and this generally includes getting yourself a tuxedo.

But let’s pump the brakes on that. Wearing a rented tuxedo is outdated and, quite frankly, not in style. There are some exceptions. If your future Mrs. plans on going all out on a black tie gala that rivals a presidential affair, sure you can wear a tuxedo (even though a great fitted three piece charcoal suit would kill it here).

For all other and more likely scenarios, a suit is the perfect attire. A suit is the perfect choice for multiple reasons:

The first reason to buy and not rent - your suit will fit you like a glove.

No matter what the associates at the tuxedo rental places boast, a rented tuxedo isn’t going to fit your body perfectly. They can measure and order what sizes you need, but they aren’t custom tailored and therefore an off the shelf fit. And who wants to look off the shelf on their wedding day?

We know it’s about how lovely the bride looks but it’s about time it’s ALSO about how good the groom looks. There is no reason why you can’t look great in a great fitting suit!

Second reason to buy and not rent - your wedding suit can be an investment.

Taking the time to pick out a great suit and get it fit is an investment in your energy and time, but why not think of it as an investment in your future? A suit that is tailored to you is a suit that is ready when you need it (think of yourself as Superman).

Need to knock out a huge presentation? Suit. Need to look great for a wedding? Suit. Need to impress the person interviewing you? Suit. You feel great when you look great, and looking and feeling like a million dollars starts with a suit that fits you like a glove.

Third reason to buy your suit  - it’s easier to match your groomsmen.

It also ensures your guys look good, too. Tuxedo rental companies just can’t get every persons fit right and inevitably there is always someone who has an issue with their tuxedo.

Trusting an expert to find and fit you and your groomsmen in suits ensures that they pay extra attention to a few things. They will pay extra attention to what works best for your wedding color pallet, what works best with size and fit for each guy, and when to order the lot of suits so they all are from the same dye lot.

Fourth and final reason to buy and not rent your suit - no wear and tear.

Someone else (well, a lot of someone else's) have worn a rented tuxedo before. They try and cycle out worn and distressed suit jackets and pants but there is always a chance there will be extra wear and tear in your tuxedo. And no one wants to look unkempt, disheveled, or downright bad on their wedding day. Friends don’t let friends wear suits someone else has worn.
